Janka & Nina Mûr
At ZITA we're happy every time someone steps through our door and feels at home. We're even happier when you come back and bring your whole family along. Our loyal customer and close friend Janka did just that – she brought her daughters and their husbands to the optician's with her.

Janka originally worked in finance, but after maternity leave she found her place in healthcare. She trained as a nurse, then continued her studies in nursing at medical school. Along the way she worked in surgery at the Bezručova Clinic and at the Betania Care Home, where she looked after seniors. She loved working with people, though especially on the ward she lived through some difficult times.
Retirement hasn't slowed her down one bit. Janka loves to travel with her two daughters Anička and Saška. Together they plan trips to places they've never been or book a cabin in the mountains where they can talk for hours. Among Janka's tips for a long weekend you'd definitely find Rome or her beloved Valletta. If you catch her at home, she'll probably be in the garden among her flowers. Most of all though, she loves spending time with her children and five grandchildren.

"When we travel, it's all about my daughters. That time when we're together, we talk, we make plans together. They both have an eye for beauty, so they always pick lovely places. Anička has a real sense for aesthetics, she can find just the right angle for a photo so it looks good. The whole thing is fun and very pleasant, I simply love my children."
Twice a year Janka heads to Canada, where she enjoys the peace and quiet on the ranch run by her daughter Katka and her husband. Every visit she helps them with the animals and growing vegetables. Janka won't be stopping her travels anytime soon – her big dream is to discover the beauty of the Indian Ocean. She's not against the idea that one day she might move to join her daughter in the countryside near Vancouver.

"If I were to live abroad, I'd go to Canada. I like that in the area where my daughter lives, people don't live a consumerist lifestyle. I appreciate the freedom there, the clean air, working in the garden and with animals. It's physically demanding, but basically she's also creating a community of women with children where they support each other in homeschooling, which is another wonderful thing."
When it comes to glasses, Janka prefers more playful shapes and pastel colours. At ZITA she chose the Marni cat-eye frame in powder pink from the Spanish brand Nina Mûr. Thanks to its wooden construction made from thin plywood, they're incredibly light to wear.

"I'm extremely happy with them. They're light and at the same time flexible. I absolutely don't feel them on my face, they don't press anywhere at all. I don't even mind that the frame is wider in some places. It doesn't get in the way of my field of vision."
