Folc
Spanish brand Folc caught our eye at one of the trade fairs in Paris. Their frames lean toward classic shapes, but thicker lines and more robust proportions give them a contemporary edge.

When Barcelona-based product designer Marta Llinarès felt it was time to do things her own way, she founded Folc. She built it on personal taste, a sense of aesthetics, and the need to create freely, without constraints.
She launched her first collection in 2016. Since then, Folc has stuck to its own pace – slow and responsible, with an emphasis on quality and the footprint it leaves behind.
Folc breathes Barcelona, a city where design blends with nightlife, where colors have no boundaries, and creative energy pulses through streets and studios alike. But a significant part of the actual production takes place in northern Italy, in a unique region surrounded by vineyards and nature, where eyewear is still made by hand and with respect for the craft.
The Spanish atelier's collections take shape long before they reach the market. The design process lasts ten to twelve months, during which designers create countless shape variations and turn selected models into handmade prototypes.
Further steps involve a series of tests. Volume, weight, and wearing comfort are all examined. Only when everything works does the final selection happen, followed by the pre-production phase, where details are fine-tuned – especially the choice of colors and materials.

Folc relies on high-quality Italian acetate (Mazzucchelli and LAES), a plant-based material derived from cotton and wood pulp. Thanks to its properties, the frames can shine in vibrant colors while achieving a high-quality surface finish. All components come from nearby sources, including metal parts from Italy and Germany.
Each pair of Folc glasses can be seen as a small sculptural piece. The design team works with volume as if it were matter. Shapes layer, curve, and transform. Vivid colors blend with transparent materials, creating subtle plays of light and shadow together.
We've brought a colorful selection of sun and optical models to ZITA for anyone who wants to feel free yet stylish. You'll find new Folc pieces on our website or in person at Pradiareň.
