La Brique et la Violette
Bold in shape and unconventional in colour, La Brique et la Violette is a tribute to the French city of Toulouse, where it was born.

The name itself references the omnipresent red brick and the scent of violets that have been cultivated in Toulouse for centuries. Behind the brand stands a married couple of opticians, Marine and Romain. Their work began as a response to the limited selection at the optician's where they worked. At first, Romain made his own designs in his free time. The enthusiastic response from customers encouraged the couple to launch their own brand. The atelier currently employs 10 people, with Romain still at the helm of design.

Thanks to their own factory, the brand controls the entire production process. Each frame must pass through nearly 40 different steps before it's complete. La Brique et La Violette doesn't operate as a typical manufactory where employees are responsible for only one part of the frame. On the contrary, everyone in the atelier goes through the entire creative process and must be skilled in several disciplines. At the end of production, they sign the frame with their initials. In the Toulouse atelier, they can freely combine different frame elements into one, choosing between matte or glossy finishes.

The distinctive design with elements of handwork makes La Brique et la Violette frames a true jewel. You can browse the entire collection from our optician's here.
